EFTTA team reports as USA tackle trade celebrates best in show A team from EFTTA visited this year’s 50th anniversary ICAST event in Las Vegas, and watched as the USA fishing tackle trade celebrated the best new products and stands at the show.
This year, the ICAST New Product Showcase was more competitive than ever. Sponsored by Fishing Tackle Retailer, 180 companies entered more than 600 tackle products and accessories into the awards.
The showcase is the flagship feature of the International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trades (ICAST), the sportfishing industry’s premier trade event produced by the American Sportfishing Association (ASA).
The 50th annual show was held at the Las Vegas Convention Centre and Mike Nussman, ASA’s president and CEO, said. “I congratulate all of the winners and thank those who participated in the New Product Showcase, from the companies who worked hard to develop these innovations to the buyers and media who served as judges.”
Making up a special section of ICAST’s 350,000-square-foot show floor, the New Product Showcase gives the industry’s latest innovations special visibility during the show. As with the Best New Product awards at EFTTEX – Europe’s leading tackle trade exhibition – the results are keenly anticipated.
Buyers and media representatives judged the products based on their levels of innovation, execution, workmanship and practicality to select ‘Best of Show’ honours in 17 categories, as well as the overall ‘Best of Show’ winner.
