Lough Currane Report

Written By: Vincent Appleby
On Date: 9/2/2010

Again we anglers were as elusive as my Noble gentlemen the Salmon. Wind NW light to fresh, amount of rainfall 1.8mm, max air temperature 8.7c. 2/2/10 again just two boats out and there were just one or two French connections with a couple of Kelts. Wind W and veered NW light and overcast with light rain at times, amount of rainfall 2.6mm, max air temperature 10.3c. 3/2/10 All quiet on all fronts be it fly or Troll. Wind WNW light to calm with good amount of sun breaking through. Amount of rainfall 3.9mm, max air temperature 10.9c. 4/2/10 Made a reasonable flood this morning followed by a strong SW wind for a time this afternoon, just the odd boat out. Wind as already stated, amount of rainfall 20.5mm, max air temperature 10.8c. 5/2/10 Made another flood this morning with a fresh to strong SSE wind blowing but come lunch time the rain had gone through plus the wind had dropped light to calm, and it was a pleasant afternoon for trolling, but my Noble gentlemen the Salmon thought otherwise. Amount of rain fall 16.2mm, max air temperature 9.4c. 6/2/10 Lough Currane was flat calm for most of the day and what wind was there was coming from the SE with bright sunshine all day. Max air temperature 11.3c. 7/2/10 There was just a few boats out and thy all came in off the Lake with the same words, which sadly I am prohibited from writing and on that note I will end this weekly report. Wind ESE fresh to strong, max air temperature 10.3c. That is all the news from your Gillie or lack of it, from the Waterville Fishery, No Spin No Fly’s just facts.
