The Angling Trust has announced the retirement of three of its long standing volunteers from the Competitions Team - Dick Clegg, Terry Fell and Brian Hull.
Team England's Dick Clegg stood down from his role as International Event Manager on December 31st 2016 after more than 34 years in the hot seat.
Dick began his reign as manager of Drennan Team England and the team enjoyed unprecedented success winning six team gold and nine individual gold medals. Dick also managed the ladies and disabled teams up to retirement and combined both roles with that of International Events Manager and representative of the FIPS-Ed Technical Commission.
Terry Fell and Brian Hull have also retired from their roles on the Angling Trust Competitions Committee. Terry and Brian have both been tremendous servants to angling over many years, firstly at local and regional level before joining the National Federation of Anglers and more recently with the Angling Trust Competitions Team.
Terry and Brian have dedicated an incredible amount of their time to volunteering in angling and delivered hundreds of competitions across the country.
Ben Thompson, Senior Competitions Manager for the Angling Trust, said: "The contribution these guys have made to angling over the years is incredible, they have given up literally months of their time, year upon year to enable thousands of anglers to take part in the competitions they love.
"I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Dick, Terry and Brian on behalf of the Angling Trust and all of the anglers who have taken part in the events these guys have been involved in, and wish them well in their retirement.”
Following their retirement, the opportunity for new volunteers to join the Angling Trust Competitions Committee has arisen. Anyone with experience of organising local, regional or major angling competitions who is interested in joining the Angling Trust team of volunteers should contact the Angling Trust Competitions Department to express their interest at sandra.johnson@anglingtrust.net
