Auction of Promises and New WUF Chair Needed. 8th December 2017 With the days still shortening and snow falling heavily in mid Wales, our thoughts are turning to Christmas. We still have some Christmas cards left and for those looking for presents for friends and family, or are even for a little self-indulgence, a WUF's auction of promises will remain open until 9pm on Sunday 10th December.
There are some fantastic lots to suit every pocket. These range from guided fishing on some high quality beats both within our catchment and beyond to exclusive shooting, cases of fine wine, holiday cottage breaks, tackle bags and one of our own Allyson's 'world-famous' Victoria sponge cakes for which four determined bidders are competing hard. They really are that good.
Whilst the sponge cake is showing the hottest competition, many other prime lots are yet to attract a bid or have just a single, low one. These include the opening weekend of the coarse fishing season on the wonderful Lower Canon Bridge and the very popular Creel fisheries and long weekends in beautifully appointed cottages in the Welsh Marches.
Please take a minute to view the lots that have been generously donated. Thanks to everyone who has donated a promise and all those that have bid so far. All proceeds from the auction will go towards the Foundation's endowment fund, which was set up by our trustees to provide our charity with a stable source of core income each year, so please don't hold back. It is all going to a very good cause. For more details on the Endowment Fund, please

WUF's 2017 Christmas card: still a few left

Lower Cannon Bridge: available for the opening week of the coarse fishing, but bid now
The Foundation's board of trustees is seeking a new chair in 2018 as Elizabeth Passey is retiring after five very successful years. Should you be interested please you find further details here.
Season's Greetings from all at WUF
