Prospects & General Comments:
River Eden June 2019.

1st, a two foot and coloured lift of water from heavy rain.
3rd, levels dropping back to just above summer height, very strong south-west breeze.
5th, overnight rain raising levels with some colour. Five fresh salmon up to seventeen pounds caught at Kirkoswald.
6th, river dropping back.
7th, heavy rain, eight pound salmon from above Carlisle.
8th, river on the well needed rise, touching three foot overnight.
9th, Alan Sephton 15 pound salmon at Lazonby. River now two foot, dropping back and clearing, fish populating the middle river now in numbers.
10th, five fish from the middle river.
11th, seven fish from the middle river. Good hatches toward evening time, some good sea trout showing 3-4 pound.
12th, very windy with rain on the way, two salmon caught above Carlisle. Some big grayling now showing up on he lower river two pound plus.
13th, river beginning to rise, two fish caught above Carlisle.
14th, a couple of fish from the middle river, a two foot rise overnight with much colour and now dropping.
15th, a few more salmon from the middle river caught, more fish showing now.
16th, a couple of big fish lost on the lower river at tide time, a couple of sea trout caught 2-3 pound in the daytime. Water height 6" above summer height with slight colour, showers.
17th, strong south-westerly wind, river beginning to rise pm. Three fish upstream of Carlisle.
18th, river level just under one foot with some colour, south-west wind strength dropped. Eight fish up to twenty pounds caught above Carlisle.
19th, river fining down nicely, good activity in the morning then quiet in the afternoon, a couple of fish above Carlisle today.
20th, river in fine condition, strong south-westerly wind with showers, fish showing in most pools, two caught above Carlisle and a couple lost below, more sea trout making an appearance on the lower river now. Grayling fishing good, brown trout better towards the evening time with good BWO hatches.
21st, river conditions very good on the lower river, 8" and almost clear water at 16oC, very good brown trout fishing in the morning and evening. A few salmon coming in off the tides now, a couple lost below Carlisle and a couple landed above.
22nd, river levels dropping off to summer height and clearing, a couple of fish caught to ten pounds and a couple lost, water getting a bit thin now on the middle river, a few fish splashing around in the deeper pools. Conditions good for night fishing.
23rd, wind now south-easterly with some well needed heavy rain due in the evening, a few sea trout last night and today on the lower river, not much salmon activity today.
27th, Alan Sephton 15 pounds fresh fish above Carlisle.
30th, one or two salmon caught over the last few days, fish movement slow with the very low water conditions. Sea trout good at night on the lower river, brown trout and grayling good to sub-surface flies in the daytime, evening fishing very good.
