Prospects & General Comments:
Spring Fishing is Picking Up! Michael McCormack from Wexford with the Second Salmon of the season.
It was sea-liced, weighed 10.2lb & taken on spinner on Thursday 11th. on the Green Bank on Beat 7 - Upper Kilmurry. The Third of the Season was caught on Sunday (14th.) by gillie Larry Sheridan. It was a very fresh fish of about 12lb. which he released.
He didn't have a camera with him
to take a picture unfortunately. Two fish for March is good when you consider that there have only been 24 rod days
for the first half of the month & only 7 from the 11-14th., when both fish were caught. Out of the Office - Argentina!
At Loop Tackle's kind invitation, we are heading off to the Rio Gallegos for some sea-trout fishing.
We will be away from the Lodge from March 18-29 inclusive so the Lodge will be closed for that time for accommodation.
Contact Christopher on 087 263 13 64 or the Lodge number if you would like to fish during this time.
We may have some contact by email, but all enquiries for bookings etc will be dealt with when we return on the 30th. Loop Opti Power Spey. Best in Test ¨C Trout & Salmon Magazine (click for link to review) Loop¡¯s new Opti Power Spey rod was recently voted "Best in Test"
in the 15ft rod review in the March 2010 edition of the Trout & Salmon magazine. After a year of testing sample after sample Loop Tackle Design were finally pleased to introduce the brand new Opti Power Spey 14¡ä #9 and 15¡ä #10 rods to the market. Designed by Eoin Fairgrieve, these rods work equally well with short heads (typical for Underhand and Skagit casting) or longer spey lines.
The tip recovery is extremely precise and the butt power never gives up.
The models feature Loop¡¯s new patended Balanced reel seat designed by David Moore, which is 50 % longer than traditional reel seats and allows the angler to choose position of the reel,
balancing the rod against the weight of the line and the casting technique.

Contact Glenda if you'd like to try this rod out on the river.

Reservations for 2010 - Book now before it's too late!
Much of late August & September is already booked. Many of our regular visitors already booked their places
before they left this year, so don't delay to ensure your place for 2010. Best Regards & Tight Lines!
