September 2009 provided a good start to the salmon season with 67 caught while October showed us 87 salmon caught which, although a lot less than the 136 in October 2008, was to be expected as high water stopped fishing. Unfortunately poor weather affected November with only 42 salmon being caught. The biggest fish caught in 2009 was 21lbs.
The Nith floodwaters at Friars Carse ran high at the start of the new year but this brought back a lot of the old runs and re-established the pools making for an even better year in 2010.
