Daytona, FL -- The Recreational Fishing Alliance (RFA) and Aquatic Release Conservation (ARC) have formed a partnership in sponsoring Raabe Racing Enterprises Nascar Nextel Cup Chevrolet racecar #73 at the Daytona 500 on Sunday, February 20th.
The first event will take place on Sunday, February 13th at the Daytona International Speedway Media Center at 12 pm. Raabe Racing Enterprises will be hosting an unveiling of their #73 Nascar Nextel Cup Racecar, introducing their newest paint scheme featuring RFA and ARC logo's, plus the RFA website, www.joinrfa.org. Ed Raabe, President of Raabe Racing Enterprises, will introduce his new driver for the #73 racecar, Eric McClure. Eric McClure made his Nascar racing debut at the Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama in April, finishing 26th.

After the unveiling begins the pole qualifying race for the Daytona 500 at 1:10 pm, where the cars race around the track twice. On Thursday, February 17th at 1:05 pm, begins the Gatorade Twin 150 qualifying race which sets the field for the Daytona 500. The Daytona 500 starts at 2 pm on Sunday, February 20th at the World Center of Racing.

In recognition of sal****er anglers' strong conservation ethic, RFA and ARC have formed a partnership to establish effective and innovative education and outreach programs in an effort to help reduce release mortality in recreational fisheries.

"We are extremely excited about participating with ARC and Raabe Racing Enterprises at such an exciting event. Nascar is the fastest growing sport in the country, and many race fans are sal****er anglers. This partnership holds tremendous potential to raise the profile of the RFA and our mission to protect the rights of anglers," said Jim Donofrio, Executive Director of the RFA.

The Recreational Fishing Alliance is a national, grassroots political action organization representing recreational fishermen and the recreational fishing industry on marine fisheries issues. The RFA Mission is to safeguard the rights of sal****er anglers, protect marine, boat and tackle industry jobs, and ensure the long-term sustainability of our Nation's sal****er fisheries.
