Prospects & General Comments:
River report Eden September 2021. 1st, water level at summer low and clear, a six pound fish from Warwick Hall today. 6th, a nine pound fish from Warwick Hall today and four fish from the lower river below Carlisle. 18th, water level around four inches below summer level and gin clear, there has been no change for weeks now with the lack of rainfall. The fish are really keeping their heads down at present with these unprecedented conditions for this time of the year, grayling and trout fishing is beginning to slow. 19th, three fish to five pounds from Warwick Hall today. 20th, an eighteen pound fish for Tom Cleasby from the (Broad Pool) lower river today, some of the deeper pools on the lower river holding numbers of big fish. 22nd, the forecast rainfall has once again passed us by, the river is now very low, anglers willing to fish very early and late are getting results, a lot of frustrated salmon waiting to run. 24th, no change, no rain, very windy, water remains low and warm. I cannot see the situation changing until there is a spell of heavy rain now, the season is almost over, and no doubt it will appear before the 14th October. This will be my last report for this season, good luck everyone and get the rain dancing shoes on!
