NEW-Fishing Rod Holder Shore-based (Tackle)
a1beach.jpg Every so often a parcel arrives with an enclosed sample, accompanied by a note asking FFI to review the content. Unfortunately for some of the senders our remarks have not always been complimentary. There was no chance of that this time, for on opening the box revealed the latest innovation in rod holders—the BEACHMASTER. The first thing we noticed was the finish. It was obvious from the start that this shiny stainless steel rod holder was no throw-together. The polished 316 Marine Grade Stainless Steel finish highlighted the lack of sharp or jagged exposed edges, and made it evident that the working components of the Beachmaster were machined to the smoothest of finishes. One thoughtful idea on the Beachmaster was the placing of a rubber insert, offering protection to the butt of the rod when placing it. Two fastening handles located on the top of the device enable the securing of a beach umbrella, flag banner or even your volleyball pole. The makers of the Beachmaster will advise you not to utilise these fastening handles when using your rods, in case of damage. But let’s face it, I want to fight the fish on my line—not let a rod holder do it! We found a claim on the side of the box that this rod holder will secure itself even in soft sand to a pulling pressure of around 45kg.—and wouldn’t dispute it! So how do you get it out if you aren’t a tough guy? A small clockwise rotation was enough to break the anchor spike free and enable the holder to come loose. For all the applications mentioned by the supplier, we all agreed that rock fishing is where the Beachmaster comes into its own, the two key points being that (1) included in the box is a handy carry strap, so valuable, as it enables you to sling the rod holder over your shoulder, along with your knapsack, leaving both hands free to carry the rods and tackle box; and (2) the anchor spike is fully retractable, which means that should you (and you will) take a stumble on the rocks, you are not going to be impaled on the spike when you land—or worse still, punch a hole in your tackle box! We found that the anchor spike created ample opportunity to position the rod holder to that handy location you need when landing that big fish. So, to sum up the Beachmaster: It has been a long time since there was any headway in the development of fishing rod holders, and after purchasing your new Beachmaster you will realise just how innovative it really is. I will not miss trying to force a tapered piece of PVC pipe into the sand, instead opting for a simple anchor spike, and even though it looks like it won’t work—it will, and more effectively than anything you have used so far. From the Beachmaster’s quality boxed presentation to its practical attributes, this item is the best gift idea for the fisherman’s home that has it all. What the heck, don’t wait until your birthday at the current price they are accessible to everybody, and available now by ordering online.More details on the product can be found @ http://www.beachmasterfishing.com.au.Bob-Martin-Williams http://www.fishingfraserisland.com
