Shakespeare Medalist 2001 Reel (Tackle)
Shakespeare have an international reputation for producing decent equipment at affordable prices and they have a winner with this brand new reel which comes in sizes 025, 030, 035 and 040 and the series is perfect for most coarse , trout and mullet fishing situations.Specifications are very impressive with rear drag, five ball bearings, macined aluminium spool, counterbalanced handle, balanced rotor, and a large ball bearing roller for the line. The 035 model comes with 3spools and the other models have 2 spools. So how much does this specification cost ? This reel is around £30 depending on the size and represents terrific value for money. As tackle dealers we get to see and handle hundreds of reels every year but it is only occasionally when one jumps out from the crowd ad something special. We fished with the 040 size in Mexico in late November and it took a huge amount of punishment off hard scrapping Yellowfin Tuna and Roosterfish - fish many times larger than the reel should be used for and it came through with flying colours and its just one heck of a reel.
