Latest Night float (Tackle)
afloat.jpg Anglers Enter the Twilight Zone:This latest addition to the ever growing army of night floats has been designed for the dedicated angler who will fish into dusk for a few hours into dark and enter the Twilight Zone .The design is based on the “stick float “principle fished top and bottom rubber and is a self cocking type float. The float works on the principle, a section of shaped wire where a short end section has had the insulation removed this is the contact point to complete the circuit when this section enters the water. Bending this wire to the required shape gives you the sensitivity to compensate for choppy water conditions. This arrangement is best suited to flat calm conditions. The float fished with rubbers top and bottom may require a back shot to sink the line local to the float thus eliminated surface drag or may be fished waggler style i.e. bottom end only, but the risk of loosing the float becomes an issue. The scene is set you have finished work and just fancied a couple of hours fishing on a pleasant summers evening nice conditions slight ripple, been catching some nice sized carp, tench or bream dusk turns to night and you have to stop fishing or go on the bomb. Not any more just set up the Twlighter fish close in against the reeds of Lilly pads where the carp come cruising and the scene is set. Be warned these floats or not for the faint hearted angler who suffers from epilepsy the light will gone into strobe effect with all the carp you will catch. One point to note the float cost so fish with a hook length at a lower breaking strain than the main reel line that way you cut the odds on float loss. On the lighter note if the big on comes and snaps you just watch the red light flash as the carp powers its way across the water.

I tried one of these Twilighter night floats Sunday night having bought one Stoneleigh. They show you exactly where they are in the dark & then I couldn't believe it, a bright red flash told me I was on....Really great.Bob P.
