Situated at the foot of the Wasdale Valley this 18th century Georgian farmhouse provides a diverse range of quality “family friendly” bed and breakfast, self catering and luxury yurt accommodation, with a very flexible and personable service.

Whether you require an overnight stay, a short 3 or 4 night break or a one or two-week holiday we can accommodate you and always aim to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

Overlooking England’s highest peak Scafell Pike, 10 mins from Wastwater (England’s deepest lake and winner of Britain’s favourite view) and with magnificent views of the Wasdale fells and spectacular surrounding landscape, Rainors Farm is a perfect location for walking, climbing, diving, mountain biking, cycling and much more.

Rainors Farm is the most perfect central location for the visiting angler, The river Irt famous for Salmon and Seatrout, is within walking distance and day/weekly tickets are easily available from Gosforth Anglers and Milom Angling Club at reasonable prices. Wastwater a short drive up the valley abounds with wild Trout, Ferrox, Charr, Salmon and Seatrout and fishing from the bank is free. Within this valley there are many tarns full of wild free taking trout all free fishing and the rivers, Esk, Calder, Ehen, Derwent and the Duddon within easy striking distance, again tickets available.
The coast is but a short distance away and a great deal of good fishing available from the estuary’s and beach, famous for Bass, tope, cod, Pollack, Mackerel, plus many other species, this area is anglers heaven.

Although the Lake District is not known for its’ beaches, Seascale and Drigg, also only 10 mins away, offer six miles of pristine coastline and lead to the beautiful, tranquil estuary of Ravenglass

Due to the variety of accommodation available, we can cater for group bookings, friend and family reunions, birthdays, anniversaries, honeymoons and all special occasions – just remember to get your preferred dates booked in advance!
